1 Year Photos

We had Caroline's 1 year pics taken about a month ago but I've had to keep them a secret (up until now :-) for some of the grandparents' birthdays. My wonderful, UH-mazing, talented and creative friend, Emily, did such a great job! She captured Caroline's personality perfectly! We just love how they turned out, and I'm excited to finally be able to share. Enjoy!

What A Difference A Year Makes

I seriously about died when I was looking back at pictures of Caroline from last summer. I just so easily forget how TINY she was. Crazy what a difference only one year makes. We ventured out to our neighborhood pool today and had a blast. Here are some pictures of Caroline from her very first summer and pool experience last year. They're fun to compare to the pics at the end of the post that we took today. I miss the good ole' days of Caroline sleeping anywhere, anytime. Perfect example below:
Love her face in this pic
One year later...doesn't need me to hold her up in the float anymore (awwww)
Just chillin' in the pool
Playing in the baby pool
Sorry for the "blue hue" pics below. The baby pool at our pool has a huge blue shade/tent and it made the color of my pics turn out funny.
"Seriously?!? LOVING this whole swimming pool idea!!!"
Friends are SO funny
Caroline thought it was so cool that the lifeguard (love that they have a lifeguard for the baby pool which is 12 inches deep BTW :-) was drinking water too. So she walked over to compare her sippy cup to the lifeguard's "big" cup.

Summer, Summer, Summer-Time

2 toddlers+ 1 freezing cold baby pool=
Quick side note--PLEASE excuse Caroline's massive bed head in the picture above. I'm so ashamed :-) Now on to the fun stuff...Last week, one of my sweet friends Katie (she was one of my fabulous five roomies from Baylor) came to stay with us with her a.d.o.r.a.b.l.e son, Will. Since it's definitely summertime already here in the blazin' hot state we live in, we busted out our baby pool for the kids to "swim" in. Apparently, the water was a little too cold at first. Caroline eventually warmed up to it, but Will decided he was having more fun hitting golf balls.
Will was having fun passing Caroline a golf ball from outside the pool...Caroline would play with it for awhile, then hand it back. They really had fun together and it was neat to see them interact so well with each other.
Will, trying to dive out and escape the icy waters
Some things are better carried by mouth than by hand

Taking a break from the pool. I'm pretty sure Will is trying to make Caroline laugh in this pic. He has the MOST fun personality...so friendly and outgoing. Will made us laugh a LOT!
To get the kids to sit still long enough to take the two pics below, Katie and I had to loudly sing "Twinkle Twinkle" and "The Itsy Bitsy Spider". Oh well, whatever works, right?!?
"Hey mom, this guy ROCKS!!!"
Katie & Will...we had so much fun with you guys. Come back to visit SOON!!!
